“As a rule, human beings do not kill other human beings. Before we enter into warfare or genocide, we first dehumanize those we mean to “eliminate” Sam Keen
The act of dehumanization is one thats held dear to American politics, at the very core of this nations establishment is the weaponization of terms like “savage” and “uncivilized” to validate massacres of Native Americans and subsequent land occupation to this day. It is no surprise that the image of the Arab man is one that has been militarized to instill fear within the western citizen long before 9/11, however this caricature has been amplified in the past two decades by the rhetoric of politicians and those that hold power to shift public opinion- the consequences of which lead to violent yet validated results like the so called War on Terror. Dehumanizing the Arab man validated the atrocities revealed from within the Abu Ghraib torture prison/camp. Dehumanizing the Arab man actively validates the slaughter, dismemberment, decapitation, and absolute obliteration of Palestinian children, women, and men right now behind the shield that they are all one big violent entity. Dehumanizing the Arab man results in Israeli tanks driving over a Palestinian body they have already shot dead because they have already surpassed the belittlement and disregard to their humanity and the value that their life held.
At the center of genocide is the dehumanizing rhetoric used by our politicians and media to generate fear-mongering laws and which is utilized by the most violent of sociopaths to facilitate the massacres they see as just. Our existence is not political yet it inherently is because the simple act of existing is resisting the narrative in which we should be dead.
