Celebrating the hijab as a source of comfort and liberation, this work critiques the limitations of Western feminist ideologies. These frameworks often perpetuate an illusion of choice, suggesting autonomy is valid only when it aligns with predefined expectations of freedom. By assuming all women experience liberation or oppression under the same conditions, such narratives erase the complexity and diversity of women's experiences. Oppression is not the act of covering one’s hair but the inability to make that choice freely, without judgment, pity, or resistance from those claiming to champion empowerment. Embodying these ideas, This work invites viewers to reexamine their assumptions and embrace a broader, more inclusive understanding of autonomy, liberation, and feminism.
